A Frequently Asked Question

Question:

How do I use headings in PERRLA for APA?

Answer:

Check to see that you have the latest version of PERRLA for APA.

Headings are a little different for different folks. One heading that is automatic in APA format is the title that is on the first page of your text and the separate title page headings.

If you need to include headings, you will want to look up their use in the APA Manual. Aside from that, creating specific headings is quite simple in PERRLA for APA. Click on the menu bar under PERRLA and select Change Format. Select the heading level you want and click on it. After that, the next thing you type will be in the heading.

If you’ve already typed the new heading and just want to put it in the correct format, click select the text (with the mouse), click on the PERRLA menu selection, click on Change Format, and then select the heading you want. Your text will be converted.

As a matter of fact, you can choose any proper APA formatting from the list under Change Format.

It’s that simple. Good luck
