APA Format Block Quote 40 Words or More

How to add a block quote of 40 words or more for APA.

If you know that you are starting a quote of 40 words or more, then you can do this at the start.

If you have already typed the quotation, first select the text using the mouse.
  1. Click on the PERRLA menu and select Change Format.
  2. Select “APA Block Quote 1st Para” (if the quote is more than one paragraph, for all subsequent paragraphs select “APA Block Quote Subsequent Para”)
  3. Now everything you type until you hit the enter key is in the block quote format.

Remember that these long quotes do not have quotation marks around them. You will put a citation at the end just like any quotation.
